My Story
I was frustrated and tired from having to rely on supplements just to function. I knew I wanted to address the root cause instead of just masking my symptoms. This realization marked a huge transition in my well-being. I was determined to understand why I was feeling the way I did. Which lead me to continue my education in holistic nutrition and become a NTP.
While studying, it helped me unlearn and relearn how I viewed food. Instead of viewing it as something to fear or demonize, I viewed it as it was intended: as nourishment and as something to be enjoyed. By I’ve embraced a holistic approach to health that nurtures the mind, body, and soul. I’m excited to share this knowledge and help others navigate their own health paths as mine continues to evolve.
If I had to describe how I got into nutrition in one phrase I’d say, “it’s complicated.” It has been a long and winding road, but after almost a decade I’ve finally found a balanced approach to nutrition and wellness that has truly transformed my life.
Since I can remember, I’ve always been curious how the food we eat affects our bodies and how it functions. It got complicated when I was a teenager being exposed to the neverending diet trends, and often feeling like snack foods were off limits because they were labeled as “unhealthy.” I didn’t realize I could enjoy those more processed snacks without compromising my health. I had an “all or nothing” mindset that left me spiraling and ultimately left me in worse health than before.
When I began college in 2015, I wrote a paper on the power of mindful eating. I realized that this concept of holistic health felt true to who I was made to be. This inspired me to switch my degree from nursing to nutrition. I found courses in holistic health that resonated with me, especially as my digestive issues worsened.
After I graduated I was battling extreme fatigue. When I would get home, I could barely drag myself off the couch I would either have no appetite, or I would be starving and have “hangry” episodes.
